Cornelia Arts Building May 17 Open House

See Art in a New Light at the
Cornelia Arts Building May 17 Open House
Guest Artist Tom Gallagher
Edgar Degas wrote “Art is not what you see, it is what you make others see.” On Friday May 17, 2019, from 6 to 10 pm, artists of The Cornelia Art Building, located at 1800 West Cornelia, invites the public to see their art and experience the space they make it in. Visit one of the largest all-artist buildings on Chicago’s Northside, and experience the wonder of two-full floors of working art studios.
Guest Artist C Grey Litaker
With one-of-a-kind hand-made artwork and gifts by both the building artists and special guest lobby artists Tom Gallagher and C Grey Litaker, and live Flamenco performances by "Rogue Flamencas" with dancer Isabelle LaPlant and guitarist Ayme Frye, the event offers something for the whole family to enjoy.
"Rogue Flamencas"
For thirty-three years this artist incubator space has provided Chicago artists with professional studio spaces to pursue their craft. Over fifty local artists and artisans work here, including sculptors, painters, photographers, ceramic artists, print-makers, jewelry designers, textile artisans, and much more.  Meet the building’s talented artists and artisans in person, explore their art practices up close, and enjoy the opportunity to purchase artwork and hand-made crafts directly from the people who made them.
