Cornelia Arts Building Springs Open
For March 3rd and 4th Open Studios
The Cornelia Art Building springs open their doors for their March Open Studios Event. On Friday March 3, from 6 - 10pm, and Saturday March 4, from 11 am - 3pm, the building artists invite the public to shop for artwork and gifts directly from the creators who made them. Shop and mingle with fellow art lovers and artists in this newly renovated working studio building, located at 1800 West Cornelia Avenue, Chicago, Illinois.
Browse two-full floors of working art studios at one of the largest all-artist buildings on Chicago’s North side. With one-of-a-kind artwork and special artisan-made gifts by the building artists, the event offers something for the whole family to enjoy. Currently over 80 local artists and artisans work here, including painters, sculptors, photographers, ceramic artists, print-makers, jewelers, and much more.
The building’s juried guest front lobby artist will be Jill Kolker, exhibiting her delightful mixed media collages on wood panels.Building on nearly four decades of fostering creativity, the venue nears completion on a multi-year remodeling effort, with double the studios and artists, and more art than ever before. Visitors to the March Open Studios can meet talented artists and artisans in person, explore their art practices up close, and purchase artwork and hand-made crafts from their creators.
Established in 1986 in a former ice-house, the Cornelia Arts Building is located at 1800 West Cornelia, at the border of three distinct Chicago Neighborhoods; Lakeview, Roscoe Village, and North Center. Located close to public transportation and only two blocks south of the Addison Brown Line CTA stop, the building has free parking lot and street parking nearby. Events are free and open to the public.
